What
BADFS stands for.
Bridges
is a strategy
coordinated by Blacktown Alcohol and other Drugs Family Services,
that strengthens communities to respond positively to alcohol and
other drug issues. Bridges is about addressing what's behind harmful
alcohol and other drug use. No person or organisation can do this in
isolation. Bridges builds stronger relationships and connections to
reduce drug-related harm ...

NEWSFLASH:
MANAGER
GOING TO SUMMIT 2020
It’s
wonderful to have been invited to the 2020 Summit. It has been a
long journey for myself and for BADFS. The ‘
Passion,
Challenge and Hope’, is a paper that I presented in
2000, that describes the challenges and dreams for BADFS and other
small organizations and communities. On reading this paper hopefully
you will understand what it means for me and for BADFS to have been
invited.
You can read about the
dreams and challenges leading up to 2000 in the
Social
Capital forums paper.
We have achieved so much
since 2000. The BADFS, Bridges and Voice for SONG websites describe
and demonstrate this.
BADFS as a
case study, including the development of the Bridges Strategy and
Voice for SONG - This
link will take you to a series of
papers, conference presentations and media articles that show the
progression of BADFS strategies since 1997.

What BADFS stands for
BADFS works with communities,
families and individuals to reduce isolation and build on strengths,
to support people in making lifestyle and relationship choices, and
in managing conflict whilst reducing the harm associated with
alcohol and other drugs use.
BADFS strongly believes that solutions or strategies for addressing
conflict and drug issues are best addressed in an environment that
enhances relationships. The development of trusting relationships at
all levels of our community is vital to address drug and other
related issues.
At BADFS, we support clients to determine for themselves the most
useful ways to make changes.
We do not charge for our service. However we do appreciate donations,
